Surprise start of our rehearsal

| Yesterday we started our rehearsal with a nice surprise. We welcomed a chorus of holiday singers, showing the result of their intense singing week. A group of (Dutch) singers came to Olhão to have a nice sunny break while singing with Jazz singer Ilse Huizinga and vocal coach Elly Machtel. They sang several beautiful songs such as Grandma’s Hands by Bill Withers and Angels by Robbie Williams. The results of only a week rehearsal were amazing! Homecoming concert in Olhão

| This year, we´ve had several concerts in Tavira, São Bras de Alportel and even Calpe (Spain). Therefore, it felt good to finally have a full concert at our homebase, the charming and comfortable Republica14 Cultural Centre in Olhão. With a sold out concert, chairs in the isles and people standing, it felt like a warm welcome and a true homecoming. We treated the audience with a diverse setlist with ballads like Lullaby, Summertime and Tomorrow is promised to No One, uptempo songs like Seven Bridges Toad and the Rhythm of Love and Bella Classics like Happy Together and Under the Boardwalk. We opened our concert with our medal winning song Oh Look at me Now! We finalized our concert with an impressive arrangement of Halleluja! We look back on a great concert, we have made many new Barbershop fans and we cannot wait to come back! |
A full Church in Tavira

| At least 140 people packed into the beautiful Igreja do Carmo in Tavira for the Rhythm of Life Concert on Saturday 5 October as Bella Acapella sung 13 modern Barbershop songs, all unaccompanied and in close harmony. Every year we are invited to sing in the program of Musica Nas Igrejas, organized by the municiplity of Tavira. We feel privileged to share our joy of music with so many people. Highlights were the energetic start with Oh, Look at me Now!, the emotional performance of the Water is Wide in the heart of the church and our final encore Halleluja. We also managed to sell many Food For the soul Calenders to members of the audience, supporting our trip to Sweden next year! |
Bordeira Com Vida

| Last weekend Bella Acapella made an open air Sing Out in the rural village of Bordeira (Faro). We were welcomed by so many friendly Bordeirense… We opened the Bordeira com Vida festival and it was with great pleasure that we have sung at three locations. We managed to capture the attention of the audience with our well-known songs like Can´t buy Me Love, Under the Boardwalk, Seven bridges Road, Until I found you, Lullaby and many more. To thank the organization, we asked the president of the Cooperativa A Bordeirense, Sr. Leonardo to accept the handmade Bella Acapella chimney as our gift. All-in all we had a great evening, we presented the art of barbershop singing to a new audience and we enjoyed meeting so many friendly people! Thank you Mauro Amaral for your hard work and invitation! |
The new season has started!

| This september 2024 Bella Acapella has started our new season. We will start relaxed but soon enough, there will be plenty of activities and coaching. We have a open air Sing Out in Bordeira (Faro) on Saturday September 14th and two full concerts in October in Olhão and Tavira. Next will be a coaching session by Mieneke Klinkert, price winning conductor from the Netherlands in November! 2025 will also see many activties, new coaches and vocal classes, all leading to the exciting participation of the Bella´s in the European Barbershop Convention in Sweden in May 2025. Successful Sing out in Santa Catarina

| Our traditional sing out in the Herdade da Corte Country Hotel was again a great experience. The outside round patio was again the perfect setting for a dinner and concert. A record number of gueste have enjoyed the tasty and well presented dishes from the restaurant while listening to a summery setlist of songs. Singing ´The Water is Wide´in a spectacular circle setting moved the audience to tears, while Happy Together made everybody smile and clapping along. We sung Summertime, Oh, look at me Now and many more evergreens and musical songs. |
